I'll be yours & you'll be mine - Papercrafting Magazine Monday Week 46 (layout 77)

One of my new year's resolutions was to start participating in Papercrafting Magazine Mondays. Well I am happy to say that it's the first week of April and I'm submitting my first piece (yay me)!!!!!!!!!

If you are not familiar with Magazine Mondays (from papercrafting's blog):
What is Magazine Mondays All About? It’s a weekly dose of papercrafting inspiration courtesy of magazines. We’ll be offering you peaks at their covers, pages, topics, typography, colors and type in hopes of inspiring you to create. And, most importantly, it’s a chance for you to show off your papercraft creations and win fun papercrafting prizes! PaperCrafter’s Corner (PCC) has been known for being a papercrafting information resource (store, event, retreat and kit club directories; industry news; product roundups, etc.) and provider of entertainment (product sneak peeks, challenges, giveaways, etc.). Now we want to become your number-one source of inspiration…more specifically, papercrafting inspiration!

Magazine Mondays - How To Play Along Each Monday we’ll post a magazine here on our blog and encourage you to use it as inspiration to create something of your very own. You’ll create something (ANYTHING papercrafted) and add a comment on the blog post, including a link to your inspired papercraft creation, before midnight (central time, GMT-5) the following Saturday. We’ll “pin” each week’s magazine – as well as everyone’s creations – to our Magazine Mondays Pinterest board to provide even more inspiration for our community. And, we’ll link to all the creations from our Facebook page so everyone following our Facebook timeline can click through and see the creations our community has shared! - See more at: http://papercrafterscorner.com/blog/papercrafting-challenge-magazine-mondays-week-forty-six/#sthash.6zDT2lNL.dpuf

This week's inspiration:
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 46 Inspiration Piece (image)

My take:
I knew exactly what photos I wanted to use as soon as I saw the inspiration. These pictures were taken back in June 29 2012 when we went on a family road trip to a family reunion and when we stopped to take a lunch-break we put Kyle in the grass for the first time (we have snow on the grass until april and then it rained so no opportunity yet to let him lay and experience grass).

I stayed with a monochromatic colour scheme and added words around the layout. I also used the nature as inspiration.

Supplies used:
papers: stampin' up, dcwv (cardstock stack), basic grey (velvet stocking)
inks: distress ink (black soot & forest moss), distress stain (peeled paint), lindy's starburst (franken-lime)
stamps: basic grey (love), just cre8 (it's a date)
border: K&company
buttons: recollections
flower: dollar store
stickers: Flourish with a bling (trent's fence)
gems: flourish with a bling (pearl, olive green)
clip: smash (tiny flag)
other embellishments: heidi swapp, heidi swapp (ephemera), dear lizzy (veneer set icons, phrases)

thank you for stopping by and hope you can play along (you still have a couple of hours to submit): http://papercrafterscorner.com/blog/papercrafting-challenge-magazine-mondays-week-forty-six/
